Multi Split

Multi Split is a system in which several indoor units in different rooms are connected to one outdoor unit.

A Multi Split system lets one outdoor unit heat and cool several rooms – each room has its own indoor unit and its own temperature setting. Depending on the model, Mitsubishi Electric MXZ outdoor units connect two to five indoor units.

  • Advantages: only one outdoor unit on the façade, and different indoor unit types (wall-mounted, cassette, ducted, floor-standing) can be combined.
  • Limitations: all indoor units run in the same mode at the same time (heating or cooling), and the outdoor unit’s capacity is shared between them.
  • Refrigerant pipe lengths and height differences must be planned – they are limited by the manufacturer’s data for each model.

Multi Split is not always the best choice: when there are few rooms, or one room needs a lot of capacity in cold weather, separate split systems are sometimes the more rational option. Our engineers assess each room’s demand and the piping routes and propose the most suitable configuration. You can check your preliminary demand with the air-conditioner planner.
