Heat pumps in Kaunas

Replacing a solid-fuel, gas or electric boiler? At our Kaunas head office we select a MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC heat pump based on how much heat your house really uses – and take care of everything up to commissioning.

Kaunas and its suburbs have a large number of detached houses that are still heated by a solid-fuel, gas or electric boiler. Owners of these homes usually want the same thing: heat without loading fuel, without ash and without constantly worrying about fuel prices. This is exactly the kind of project we prepare at our Kaunas head office at Partizanų g. 27 – here we select MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC heat pumps, prepare quotations and coordinate installation and service.

Replacing a boiler with a heat pump: where we start

In an older house the catalogue capacity matters less than how the house actually uses heat. So we first find out how much fuel you used in previous seasons, what heating system you have – radiators or underfloor heating – what water temperature it needs and whether the heat pump will also produce hot water. This data lets us choose a unit of the right size rather than an oversized one "just in case". You can make a first estimate with our heat pump sizing tool; the final capacity is confirmed by our specialist.

Systems we most often consider for Kaunas homes

  • ECODAN air-to-water with a cylinder – when the heat pump takes over both heating and hot water: the EHSTD-YM9D indoor module has an integrated tank.
  • ECODAN Hydro-box – when the house already has a cylinder or the plant room is short of space: EHSD-YM9D.
  • Monobloc – when you prefer no refrigerant lines entering the house: the PUZ-WM outdoor unit.
  • Air-to-air – when existing heating needs a quick top-up and you also want summer cooling, for example with the wall-mounted MSZ-LN-VGHZ.

If you are torn between these options, read our article "Air-to-air or air-to-water" or try the system finder.

What you get when you choose EKO2ŠILUMA

We take responsibility for the whole chain: equipment selection based on calculations, the MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC package, installation, commissioning and later service. You do not have to coordinate several contractors – one contact in Kaunas knows your system from the very first conversation. During commissioning we set the heating curve for your house, show you how to operate the system and keep the equipment data on file for future service.

How the Kaunas office works

The whole project cycle is run from the head office: consultation, equipment selection, installation planning, commissioning and tuning and, later, maintenance. We assess the outdoor unit position, condensate drainage and electrical supply before we send a quotation, so there are no surprises on installation day. Please call +370 678 85584 before visiting the office so we can arrange a time with a specialist.

From the Kaunas office we serve the city of Kaunas and the surrounding districts; for sites further away, please get in touch. Start with a project request: describe your house and we will propose a solution we can back up with calculations.

FAQ

Can a heat pump work with my existing radiators?

Often yes, but it depends on the water temperature your radiators need on the coldest days. We assess this when we review the system and select the unit.

What should I prepare before a consultation at the Kaunas office?

The floor area, year of construction or renovation, fuel use in previous seasons, the type of heating system and, if available, a floor plan or photos of the boiler room.

Can the old boiler stay as a backup?

In some cases, yes – an ECODAN system can be combined with an additional heat source. Whether it makes sense for your house is something we discuss while preparing the solution.
