MELCloud and smart control: managing the climate at home and in the office from anywhere

A heat pump or air conditioner can be controlled by more than a remote on the wall. Here is an overview of MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC control options – from the MELCloud app to wired controllers.

Climate equipment works best today when it is controlled thoughtfully: heating is turned down when nobody is home, cooling switches on before you return, and you learn about a fault before you feel the cold. MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC offers several ways to control its equipment, and we choose them according to the equipment and your habits.

MELCloud – control over the internet

MELCloud is MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC's cloud solution for remotely controlling air conditioning and heating equipment – whether you are at work, on holiday or relaxing at home. Through the phone app or a web browser you can:

  • switch units on and off, change the mode and the set temperature;
  • create weekly schedules that follow your routine;
  • monitor equipment status and room temperatures;
  • manage several sites, for example your home and a country house, in one account.

For MELCloud to work, the unit needs a compatible Wi-Fi interface and a stable internet connection. Some models, such as the MSZ-LN-VGHZ, have a built-in Wi-Fi adapter; for others the interface is fitted separately. We check compatibility with your equipment before installation.

When remote control pays off most

  • Country houses and second homes. You can keep a frost-protection temperature and warm the house up before you arrive.
  • Irregular routines. Schedules and remote adjustment help you avoid heating empty rooms.
  • Rental property. The owner can see whether the equipment is running without being on site.

Wall controllers

Not everyone wants to control the climate by phone. For commercial and some residential systems we offer wired controllers: the simple PAR-41MAAB and the touchscreen PAR-CT, which can be used with Mr Slim and City Multi indoor units, and with M-series units via an additional interface. Where cables cannot be run, the wireless PAR-WT controller is a good fit. In offices and hotels the choice of controller often decides whether users are happy with the system.

Controlling air-to-water systems

On ECODAN systems the controller manages not only space heating but also domestic hot water, zones and the heating curve. Through MELCloud you can monitor and adjust the main settings, but we recommend changing more complex parameters – especially those relating to the heating curve or a backup heat source – together with our specialist.

Security and privacy

Remote access is convenient, so it is important to protect it properly: use a strong password, do not share your account details with third parties and, where needed, give access only to family members or a facility manager.

Want to control your existing MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC equipment remotely, or choosing a new system with smart control? Start with the system finder or send a request – we will advise which interface and controller suit your equipment and configure everything during commissioning.
