ErP directive (ecodesign)
ErP refers to the EU ecodesign requirements that set minimum efficiency for energy-related products and their energy labelling.
ErP (Energy-related Products) refers to the European Union ecodesign rules. They set minimum efficiency requirements for air conditioners, heat pumps, ventilation units and other equipment, as well as uniform energy labelling.
- Under these rules the seasonal ratings SCOP and SEER, the design capacity Pdesign, annual electricity consumption and sound level are published.
- The EU energy label allows units to be compared under the same test conditions.
- Heating ratings on the label are usually given for the average climate; for colder Lithuanian winters the engineer additionally checks the manufacturer’s data at low outdoor temperatures.
The label is a good starting point, but it does not show whether a unit is the right size for your home. When selecting Mitsubishi Electric equipment we compare ErP ratings with the building’s actual needs. You can compare model ratings on our comparison page and check your preliminary capacity demand in the calculator.
Note that the label class and seasonal ratings depend on the specific combination of indoor and outdoor unit, so compare the whole system rather than a single unit.
